You can enjoy Grindelwald’s snowy peaks without skiing. Take a railway or lift to an open winter walking path for a walk among the snowy peaks. Use the operator’s winter-path report to choose the walk; a summer panorama route may be closed or unsafe in snow.
Winter boots with grip and warm clothing are essential. Ice, short daylight and slower walking all affect how far you can go. Snowshoe trails need different equipment from prepared footpaths. If lunch is part of the outing, choose somewhere open and note the last lift or train down.
